The Golden Compass

Release Year: 2007
Review: It was a mediocre child's fantasy epic, comparable to The Lion the Witch and the wardrobe. I haven't read the book, but it seems like the author has a very rich and fleshed out fantasy world which the movie fails to really convey properly. The characters don't seem all too "fantastic", and the movie just seems to phone it in. Unless you really love these types of fantasy adventures, have children, or read the book I wouldn't recommend this movie.
