Taken

Release Year: 2008

Review: A popcorn movie if there ever was one. Taken is pretty much one giant action scene with a paper thin plot sprinkled in. Liam Neeson is this film. His performance as a retired spy is off the chart in intensity. Every line he speaks and each blow he delivers is meaningful and intimidating. Beyond Neeson beating up everything in sight there is little to the movie. The general premise has been done many times before, but what Neeson brings to the film is where it draws you and is the appeal here. If you think about the plot for more than minute you will laugh. The trick is to not think to hard and just enjoy the ride, and what a fun ride it is.
