Revolutionary Road

Release Year: 2008
Review: This film seemed to put it in neutral from the beginning and didn't even try to shift out. The dull monotony of constant whining from the the Wheelers is like nails on a chalkboard. There is little character development for the characters played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. I didn't care about their petty struggles, or feel empathy for their failing relationship. They were empty people living shallow lives and I simply didn't enjoy watching them. Perhaps the point of the film was to feel this way about them, but it doesn't make the viewing any more enjoyable. It was a dreary, miserable, experience watching this film.
