It's a Wonderful Life

"What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down."

Release Year: 1946

Director: Frank Capra

Review: There are those movies which are synonymous with Christmas, and 'It's a Wonderful Life' is chief among them.  Wrapping up the essential spirit of Christmas, the spirit of community, into a well packaged moving film, it is no wonder why this is a favorite to so many around the holidays.  It never quite felt like a Christmas movie to me, perhaps because the sentiment felt a little to convenient.  I did have problems with some of the assumptions the movie makes, but this is just nit picking.  I could watch Jimmy Stewart in anything, and this is perhaps his best, most fitting, role.  It may be a bit sappy, but it is undeniably heartfelt.
