Release Year: 2008
Review: Clint Eastwood playing the character he was born to play; the gruff old man who has experienced it all but has a tender heart. This was an odd movie experience. The story is interesting and Clint plays his role to perfection. Yet the writing and acting by the other characters is distractingly bad. Perhaps it is magnified by Eastwood's great performance, but the supporting acting felt like bad actors reading lines for the first time, and this wasn't helped by a screenplay which featured flat, predictable lines. This had the potential to be a great movie had Eastwood had any help, but really just go see this film for his performance.
